Glutathione is a thiol tripeptide of glutamate, cysteine and glycine. Its first linkage is an isopeptide bond formed from the glutamate side chain rather than the normal peptide backbone, which is why ordinary peptidases do not cleave it. Note it is glutamate, not glutamine, a common mix-up.

This vial holds 1500 mg of lyophilised glutathione at a release specification of ≥99% by HPLC. Purified and filled in our Ontario lab and supplied with 10 mL of bacteriostatic water, sized to the fill. The certificate for your batch is in the photos on this page.

Every vial of GLUTATHIONE 1500mg we ship was made in our Canadian lab, from raw material through to the finished cake.

The compound

Glutathione, in short.

Three amino acids

Glutamate, cysteine and glycine. Not glutamine, which is a different molecule and a common mix-up.

An unusual bond

The first link is an isopeptide bond formed from glutamate's side chain, not the normal backbone. That is why it survives ordinary peptidases.

Structure settled in 1935

Discovered in 1888, misidentified as a dipeptide for decades, and finally solved by Harington and Mead.
